Become a volunteer
- Do you want to gain experience in nature conservation, get outdoors and broaden your horizons?
-
Do you have a passion for the environment or simply want to give a few hours a week to a cause that benefits your community?
Volunteer at Wormwood Scrubs Local Nature Reserve and get hands on with nature.
If you are seeking experience in nature conservation, join the Access to Nature Programme to actively experience and enjoy the natural environment.
We are seeking long-term and one-off volunteers to be involved in a range of conservation activities and events on Wormwood Scrubs that has a direct benefit for the Scrubs and its wildlife.
We hold regular volunteer work days where you can have a go at activities such as hedge laying, tree felling, planting and wildlife surveying. By volunteering you are making a real difference to local biodiversity. Regular volunteers can expect to receive training in land management techniques and will be involved in the planning of future conservation activities. You can also work alongside Netty, the Nature Conservation Officer, and help plan and run events from family days to collecting wildlife data. As a volunteer you can meet a wide variety of new people, learn new skills and enjoy the benefits of outdoor exercise.
There are volunteering opportunities for everyone so if you are interested in London’s nature and can spend a few hours a month please contact: Netty Ribeaux - netty.ribeaux@groundwork.org.uk.
