Hedgerows
Hedgerows are a line of closely spaced shrubs and tree species, such as hawthorn, blackthorn and hazel, planted and trained in such a way as to form field boundaries, and have been in existence for more than seven hundred years. Hedgerows are important habitats for many plants and animals, especially when surrounding area is devoid of other wildlife features. They provide important nesting sites for birds, food for birds and insects, and migration routes for many animals that would otherwise be unable to move between isolated habitat patches.
